The European Blockshow 2018 report has ranked Switzerland as the top rated cryptocurrency friendly nation in Europe. The ranking was based on all European countries that have the friendliest regulations on сгурtоcuггencies and blockchain related projects.

Blockshow Europe ranked each European country by using criteria based on regulation of ICOs, regulation of cryptocurrency as means of payment, and taxation including specific taxes on cryptocurrencies as payment and capital gains. All rankings of the countries were 0-10, with “0” being the most negative and “10” being perfect. The report states that the final rating for the country or territory, “is derived by the sum of these sub-ratings and the report provides highlights for the top ten domiciles.”

The ranking shows Switzerland as the #1 nation for cryptocurrency for the fact that Switzerland has become a genuine central hub for сryptocurrency related projects from around the globe.

One reason Switzerland is doing so well in regards to cryptocurrency and blockchain projects is due in large part to the Canton of Zug. Zug is home to the “Crypto Valley” project, which is an independent government-backed group. Their sole purpose is to create a “world leading blockchain and сгурtоgraphic technologies ecosystem.”

Switzerland has also become home to many big blockchain projects including Bancor, Dfinity, Ethereum Foundation and numerous others.

The rest of the top ten come in as follows:

  1. Gibraltar
  2. Malta
  3. United Kingdom
  4. Denmark
  5. Germany
  6. Portugal
  7. The Netherlands
  8. Finland
  9. Belarus
