Gemini adds Zcash to its Exchange with Bitcoin Cash & Litecoin Soon to Follow

The Bitcoin exchange started by the Winklevoss brothers has just added Zcash, a privacy-based coin, to its listings after getting approval by the New York Department of Financial Services.

“Our approval makes Gemini the first licensed Zcash exchange in the world,” Cameron Winklevoss who serves as President of Gemini said in a statement. “It also makes the NYSDFS the first regulatory agency in the world to supervise Zcash.”

Gemini says it will be available for trades on May 22, 2018 at 9:30am EDT.

In addition to Zcash, Gemini says they will also be adding Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash as well, although exactly when they would be available for trade has yet to be disclosed.

Privacy coins have become quite attractive of late. On April 17, 2018 Verge coin (XVG) was picked by MindGeek, which is the parent company for Pornhub. This allowed for the optional payment with XVG for millions of users on their official streaming platform. Soon after XVG was picked up by TrafficJunky, offering payment options for an even greater audience..
