EU Parliament Study Proves Cryptocurrency Doesn’t Aide Terrorism Any More Than Fiat

A new study by the European Union Parliament proves that when it comes to funding terrorism cryptocurrencies aren’t posing any greater risk than hard cash.

Often times those who are against cryptocurrency will say that its large scale use will aide with terrorism or help those on the dark web. However, little evidence has been shown proving this assertion. Now a new report from the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs proves this isn’t the case at all. Cryptocurrencies show no greater risk to the funding of terrorism than fiat.

The report reads in part, ”In their current form and at current levels of adoption, (virtual currencies) may not present terrorist actors with substantial advantages over other methods of funding and financing they already utilize.”
